At Velvet Air, private aviation is tailored to your journey, with every detail designed around your needs. As an independent Miami air charter specialist, we work directly with carefully selected, licensed operators to find the right aircraft for your destination, schedule and preferences.
We organise the booking and the charter, and every flight we arrange is operated by a licensed air carrier under its own certificate, with its own crew and its own authority over the flight. Because we are not tied to one fleet, every trip goes out to our network of partner operators instead of to a hangar, and what comes back in front of you is the aircraft that suits the day rather than the one that needed filling.
We work with those carriers directly and never through other brokers, so there is one margin inside your price instead of two. From the first message to the day itself you deal with us, and we are on your side of the table, not the operator's.

Our Operators
Every Flight Is Flown by a Fully Licensed Air Carrier
Velvet Air is an air charter broker and is not a direct air carrier in operational control of any aircraft. Every flight we arrange is performed by a fully certificated air carrier: in the United States one holding a current FAA Part 135 air carrier certificate and its Department of Transportation registration, and in the Bahamas one licensed by the Bahamas Civil Aviation Authority.
That carrier holds the licences, the insurance and the trained crew, and it keeps every decision that belongs to it: the aircraft, the weather call and the authority to fly or not to fly. What we decide is which of those carriers ends up with your trip.
What We Check Before a Carrier Is Put in Front of You
- A current air carrier certificate, checked with the authority that issued it rather than read off a homepage.
- The individual aircraft on that certificate, because a licence that covers a fleet does not automatically cover the aircraft flying you.
- Licensed, current and type-rated crew, with a clean enforcement record.
- Current insurance, with the people on board named on it.
- Any independent safety rating, matched to the company that actually signs the flight contract, which is not always the name on the brochure.
- That they hold the certificate and fly the aircraft themselves, because we do not place trips through other brokers.

Over 50 Destinations in the Bahamas and the Keys
From Miami and Fort Lauderdale we arrange flights to more than 50 destinations in the Bahamas and the Florida Keys. For these island routes our network includes the Cessna Grand Caravan EX, seating up to 8 passengers, and alongside it the jets, turboprops, piston twins and helicopters below for the rest of the map.
Jets
Citation CJ3/CJ3+ with 6 seats, Citation Excel/XLS and Citation Sovereign with 8, and the Challenger 650 with 12, from light jets to a heavy jet.
Turboprops and Pistons
Cessna Grand Caravan EX (up to 8 passengers), King Air C90 and Cessna 402C (up to 7), Piper Chieftain (up to 9), Beechcraft Baron 58 and Piper Aztec (up to 5).
Helicopters
Bell 407 (up to 5 passengers), Agusta 109 (up to 7) and Sikorsky S-76 (up to 9), for short hops and arrivals where a runway is not the point.
