The Route

It lies about 196 nautical miles east of Miami and has three airports: North Eleuthera in the north, Governor's Harbour in the middle and Rock Sound in the south. Flights from Miami to Eleuthera land at one of them, named in your quote, the aircraft is reserved for your group alone, and by jet the time in the air is about 50 minutes to an hour.
Each Miami to Eleuthera flight is arranged by Velvet Air and flown by a licensed carrier. Tell us the date and how many are travelling, and we send back the aircraft that suit the trip, each with a single total. Passenger names, passport numbers and the paperwork for both borders are filed by us, so your part is the passports and the luggage.

Plan Your Eleuthera FlightDistance and Time
Eleuthera, About 196 Nautical Miles East
Flying from Miami to Eleuthera covers about 196 nautical miles to the airports of the island. In the air that is about 50 minutes to an hour by jet and about an hour to an hour and a half by small plane, about an hour and a half by seaplane and about an hour and a half to an hour and three quarters by helicopter. There is no change of aircraft in Nassau: the Miami to Eleuthera flight is one leg from your Miami departure point to Eleuthera.
How Long the Day Runs
A Day on Eleuthera, a Weekend or a Week
A morning departure leaves the middle of the day for the island and brings you home to Miami in the evening, and a longer stay in Eleuthera is planned the same way. On a charter the aircraft waits for you, so you set the return hour yourself. Say in your enquiry whether you fly back the same day or stay on, and the return is built around that. Only weather and delays can move it.
The Whole Aircraft
No Other Passengers, Your Hour of Departure
You charter the whole aircraft to Eleuthera, so the people on board are the people you name and nobody else. You choose the departure hour within daylight and within the hours the crew may fly. The quote puts aircraft, crew and the Miami to Eleuthera flight into one total and lists what it covers before any deposit is paid.
Both Borders
Customs on Arrival, Filings from Our Side
Every passenger, children included, needs a valid passport. Eleuthera has three airports that accept international flights, and the quote names the one for your flight, so your group clears the border where it lands. Before you fly from Miami to Eleuthera, the names and passport numbers are filed from our side, and the same is done for the flight home.
Beaches and Water
Pink Sands, the Bight and the Atlantic Side
Harbour Island lies off the northern tip. From North Eleuthera Airport it is a short taxi to the dock and about five minutes by water taxi across, and Pink Sands Beach on its Atlantic side runs for about three miles. Further south the Glass Window Bridge crosses the narrowest point of Eleuthera, with the Atlantic on one side and the calmer Bight on the other. Tell us which you want, pack swimwear, and let us know your luggage, because the allowance depends on the aircraft.
Town and Harbour
Governor's Harbour in the Middle of the Island
Governor's Harbour is the main settlement in the middle of Eleuthera and its administrative centre, with the shops, restaurants and services of the island. The Queen's Highway runs the whole length of the island, about 110 miles, so a car is the way to see it. A car can be waiting at the airport when you land in Eleuthera, and you tell us in the enquiry whether you want one.

On the Islands
What to See After the Flight to Eleuthera
Below are six places to see after you fly from Miami to Eleuthera, from the pink sand of Harbour Island to the caves at Hatchet Bay.
Plan Your Eleuthera FlightPink Sands Beach, Harbour Island
Three Miles of Pink SandPink Sands Beach runs for about three miles along the Atlantic side of Harbour Island, off the northern tip of Eleuthera. The sand has a pink tint that comes from the tiny shells of marine organisms called foraminifera. From North Eleuthera Airport it is a short taxi to the dock and about five minutes by water taxi across to the island.
Dunmore Town is the only town on Harbour Island. Golf carts are the main way to get around, and there are rental companies in the town. The beaches, including Pink Sands, are a short ride from the centre.
The Glass Window Bridge crosses the narrowest point of Eleuthera, where the island is only about 30 feet wide, north of Gregory Town. On one side lies the Atlantic and on the other the calmer Bight of Eleuthera. In rough weather waves from the Atlantic side can break over the bridge and the cliffs beside it.
Hatchet Bay Cave lies near Alice Town on the Hatchet Bay side of Eleuthera, off the Queen's Highway, and its passages run for about a mile. Hatchet Bay itself is a sheltered natural harbour, popular with sailors, which makes it a good place to see from the water as well.
Governor's Harbour is the main settlement in the middle of Eleuthera and its administrative centre. It has its own airport, and the Queen's Highway runs from here along the length of the island, about 110 miles in all.
North Eleuthera Airport in the north of the island is the airport charter operators recommend for private flights to Eleuthera, and it is the one closest to Harbour Island. Governor's Harbour in the middle and Rock Sound in the south also accept international flights, and the quote names the airport for your flight.
